You can be in Chattanooga in 25 minutes, and Nashville's 90 minutes away. Jasper's lacking in young families, and the Highlands and the area is not the best place for young families, however. I've not been up to the Highlands, but from the pictures online it looks like it's going to be a nice place to retire. ![]() And the Sequatchie Valley north of Jasper is a very picturesque place. The area is famous for its hang gliding (kites) with cliffs on top of those mountains. The road built up to that project is really something in itself. Jasper Highlands is located on top of a mountain just off of the Interstate highway about 25 miles out of Chattanooga. I would ask about maintenance intervals though so you can get it maintained and drained regularly, and I don't think you will have any issues. As long as the system is installed by someone competent, qualified, and licensed?, I wouldn't worry about it. Someone I know did end up running into an issue one time because theirs filled up, most likely due to lack of maintenance, but I believe it was a relatively inexpensive fix (<$5k). My parents have one and they have never had an issue in the 20+ years they have owned their home. I am from a rural area where almost every home is on a septic tank system. Seems the homes are on a septic tank/system? Has anyone toured the development with an eye to buying land/building a home, and if so, is the septic system a big turnoff to you? Having never lived with anything but municipal sewer systems, the idea of something different is scary to me. ![]() ?īe much closer for city evening activities, etc.Įverything I read about Jasper Highlands is appealing.with one exception. I believe a mix of housing was written, so you might want to ask real estate agents about smaller land, thus lower price. Part Two, Just last week Chattanooga article announced same developer, John Thornton bought & got approval for 200 acres on the river north of the city, very near Lupton city nine hole golf course & city Tennis complex. Total build out will be 1,500 lots, Lots are $60 K up to $1, one million for bluff views. 700 lots have been Sold, 94 completed homes with 200 residents. ? Other info from printed JASPER HIGHLANDS article states, Home owners assn yearly dues are $ 720, Seven- twenty. Recent trend is flexible hose, so builders can bend between trees, slope, etc, a nicer improvement. Do not hear noise and the water is pumped up hill to junction box in trees on back line.We have sort of rigid white PVC pipe for the Field grid. our recent build three yrs ago has a higher backyard than the smaller front, so builder had to install a PUMP UP system. We are in second house here north of Chattanooga, Hamilton county. One community in east Florida was town sewer, higher monthly bill. I am the opposite of your locations & always on septic in three states. construction stated on 5,000 sq ft restaurant ,microbrewery & general store, a 4,300 sq ft wellness center. The latest article was May 05 called BREW with a View. We read all the articles in the Chattanooga newspaper. Have not officially been to the Jasper Mtn. ![]()
